Dam Visit

We visited a new dam site in Southern Baja during the winter of 2014.
The site is located a few miles North of the Cabo Airport.

Here are some pictures to document what they are doing.

The fist picture was taken several miles away.

Distance

We had made the trip with motorcycles but the road was good and could be done by car.

In the first part of 2016 we visited the dam again. This time is was about 1/2 full of water.

Ever since we visited, I have wondered how they were going to get the water out of the Dam for the public use. After doing some research on the internet, I found that they plan to fill the acquifer directly from the Dam so they do not need a pipe leaving the Dam. If a hurricane comes it will just over flow. I wonder how well this will work? Here are some pictures of the back side of the Dam.

The name of the Dam is Presa La Palma.

I am glad to see water taken seriously in BCS.
